Tecnalogic has developed its own research activity model.

Circular Invention Process (CIP) consists of 4 phases:
  1. Bauplan
  1. Exaptation
  1. Spandrel
  1. Development
Bauplan. This is the initial phase where the modeling of the method studied is finalized with the coding of an invention patent from which 0 or n utility models can be derive in the phase of application of the method (Exaptation).
Exaptation. This phase of the method defines Utility Model [0,n], which belong to a single method and a single Invention Patent [1,1].
The definition of the utility model relating to the method by which it is elaborated can lead the research towards the definition of SW, Algorithms, not studied by the research of Exaptation phase, which solve problems in different fields, but related to the addressed technology.
Example: utility model that measures the CO2 of IT systems directly connected to a power distributor inside a data center rack, through the Serendipity phase the CO2 processing algorithm is created which is used for supply optimization chain.
Spandrel. This phase has the characteristic of defining innovative business models based on new processes whose rules are described in the method and implemented by the relative utility model.
The developed business model can provide new patent methods through the adjacency method.
Example: from the method of Profiling, Scheduling and Balancing of electricity consumption, the method for "traceability to the origin of the agri-food product” will be elaborated (the adjacent method, in this case, is “optimization of primary and secondary resources”).
Development. This phase finalizes the research component by codifying the method in mathematical computing models formed by sophisticated algorithms (ML, DL) and artificial intelligence systems. This step is the basis for the Tecnalogic Technology Transfer (T3) towards the creation of new startups and/or services that implement the method through the data platform (Data Energy-as-a-Service). This phase of the method defines Data Platform (Code, AI, ML, DL) [0,n], which belong to a single Business Model and a single Process/Service [1,1].
